In
order to keep the built-ins, I decided to float the bed in
the middle of the room. The low headboard has a cut out allowing
for an open and airy look. The gold and gray bird pattern
of the coverlet and shams, reminiscent of M.C. Escher’s
artwork, plays beautifully off the carpet. Three pages from
an antique book are framed to form the artwork on the wall.
The walls are in gray grass cloth for texture, and the jewel-like
silk chandelier creates the same soft diffused lighting effect
as do the Shoji screens. |
