To help guide my clients toward creating a home environment that flows with a sense of balance and harmony.

To establish a one-of-a-kind artistic formation of space that incorporates my clients’ specific needs.

To create results which reflect my clients’ personal style, beautifully blended with my expertise in good design and strong attention to detail.

I grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut. Even as a young child, I was interested in fashion relating to clothing and the home. Coordinating fabrics and styles captured my attention as far back as I can remember. Vocational tests confirmed my strong desire to do something artistic and creative as well as help others. My eighth grade autobiography stated, "When I grow up, I want to be an interior decorator." In high school, my senior class voted me "best dressed."

After graduating from high school, I attended the College of Design, Architecture and Art at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. I received two degrees: a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Education.

I started my career teaching art at a college preparatory high school in Cincinnati. I discovered that I had a passion for art and design as well as a need to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others. My emphasis was always on art awareness, teaching my students to look and see art and design everywhere. Also, I encouraged them to express themselves profoundly through their work. I found teaching to be very rewarding, but still had the heartfelt desire to be an interior designer.

I began my interior design career while working at furniture stores in Connecticut for four years, and then owning and operating a retail furniture and design store for seven years. After establishing myself as a designer and building up a clientele, I decided to focus exclusively on designing. In 1994 I went into business as Suzanne Novik Interiors, Inc. I am a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Connecticut chapter.
